Water Quality

There are currently hundreds of thousands of septic systems leaching nitrogen into Suffolk County soil, impacting the health of all of our waterways. The Town of Brookhaven must work hand in hand with the county in order to solve this issue through the County’s Reclaim our Water Initiative so that we can expand recreational use of our waterways and protect our drinking water.

Waste Management

The Town of Brookhaven is facing an impending waste crisis once our town landfill closes in 2024. What will happen to the million tons of waste we currently take in? The solution to this problem will likely take years of planning and construction, yet I don’t see our current town leaders working to address these needs. I believe that now is that time to come together and fix this problem before it is too late.

Affordable Housing

Affordable housing is an ever present issue on Long Island. I support Suffolk County’s Connect LI vision plan as a way for The Town of Brookhaven to counteract this issue. The plan calls for transit oriented development that creates higher density, more affordable housing. I will support this vision by advocating for zoning changes on the town level that will allow for these developments.
